Recently I was asked by a cosplayer if I could potentially shoot high-key pinup photos. This is a style I have seen become popular recently but I had never taken a crack at. So with that said I got to thinking about lighting and backgrounds. I originally attempted to do the shoot with a dove grey background. My thinking is that I could blast a ton of light into without worrying too much about the bounce coming back and making the model overblown on the edges. It was a good though but it still gave me issues with the key light and how to light the subject. Ultimately I switched out the grey for a white background. I place two lights on the side and a large key light. You might want to use two lights one above one below to remove any shadows. To test this out I asked for volunteers on my Facebook page and got Jess (MaidOfMight) to step up. She ended up bringing a friend Victoria who also got in on the action for our shoot which was most welcome as the vary subjects allowed me to test different things.
